Living in "The House"
Living in the CJL is a far different experience than living in just another campus residence hall. The CJL house is what every Jewish community should be like--a tolerant environment, with students of every observance level who respect one another, and treat each other like family.
No matter where you need to go on campus, know that it's bound to be close to the CJL. Have to go to class? The CJL is less than 5 minutes away from the Arts Quad and the Engineering Quad. Want to pump some iron or jump on the elliptical? We're a 3 minute walk to Noyes Community Center, which hosts Cornell's newest gym, as well as a convenience store which sells kosher food. Also, how can you beat having a Cornell Dining Hall (104 West!) right next door!
How about amenities? The CJL offers spacious rooms, extra-long beds, and fast internet connections, both wireless and wired. There's also no need to pay for cable- it's free, unlike in Cornell-run dorms. The CJL has two sets of laundry machines to be used free of charge by residents. There is also a widescreen HDTV in the basement for watching DVDs and TV(including HBO!), as well as playing videogames.
